§ 02 — How to Choose

Each service addresses a distinct operational question

The three engagements cover different parts of a facility's operations. Some facilities need one. Some need two at different points in time. The preliminary discussion will help clarify which fits your situation — and we'll say plainly if none of them do.

All three engagements follow the same general structure: preliminary scope discussion, on-site or session-based work, written report, post-delivery discussion. The differences are in what's being observed and what the report covers.

§ 03 — Service 01

Manufacturing Process Review

¥23,000

For small and mid-sized manufacturing facilities that want a quiet outside perspective on their current production flow. The engagement begins with two days on-site observing operations, followed by interviews with line staff and a written observation report. Suitable for facilities producing precision components, fabricated assemblies, or specialty consumables familiar in Japanese industry.

Specifications
Duration 2 days on-site + report
Deliverable Written observation report with findings and options
Includes Line staff interviews, post-delivery discussion
Suitable for Precision components, fabricated assemblies, specialty consumables
Investment ¥23,000 — fixed

Findings are presented as observations and options rather than directives. Your facility team reviews the report and decides what, if anything, to act on. There is no follow-on implementation service attached.

§ 04 — Service 02

Laboratory Configuration Consultation

¥45,000

A planning engagement for research laboratories preparing a new layout or refreshing an existing facility. Across three sessions we discuss safety considerations, instrument placement, and workflow between adjacent rooms. A documentation pack accompanies the work including a draft floor plan, an equipment list, and notes on Japanese compliance frameworks relevant to the facility type.

Specifications
Format 3 planning sessions
Deliverable Documentation pack: floor plan draft, equipment list, compliance notes
Covers Safety, instrument placement, inter-room workflow
Suitable for Academic groups, industrial labs, contract research organisations
Investment ¥45,000 — fixed

Compliance notes reference Japanese frameworks applicable to your facility type — not generic international standards applied without local context. The documentation pack is structured for independent use after the engagement ends.

Industrial energy systems metering

§ 05 — Service 03

Industrial Energy Systems Analysis

¥37,500

An analytical engagement that examines how a facility consumes energy across its operating cycle and identifies opportunities for measured adjustments. The work draws on a fortnight of metered observation and concludes with a written analysis covering observed patterns, suggested adjustments, and a brief reference to regional support programmes. Suitable for facility managers and operations leaders considering longer-term planning.

Specifications
Duration ~14 days metered observation
Deliverable Written energy analysis with patterns, adjustments, and programme references
Method Direct metered measurement across the full operating cycle
Suitable for Facility managers and operations leaders, longer-term planning
Investment ¥37,500 — fixed

The analysis draws on real metered data from your facility's operating cycle — not industry benchmarks applied from a distance. Regional support programme references are included where applicable to Japanese facilities of your type.

§ 06 — Standard Across All Services

What every engagement includes, regardless of type

Preliminary Discussion

A clear conversation about scope, access, constraints, and what the engagement will and won't cover — before work begins.

Documented Findings

A written report structured for use by your team independently. Not a presentation that requires the consultant present to interpret.

Post-Delivery Session

A discussion after the report is delivered where your team can ask about specific findings and how to interpret sections of the document.

No Follow-On Obligations

The engagement ends when the post-delivery discussion is complete. There are no attached services, subscriptions, or further purchases expected.

§ 07 — Getting Started

The path from initial contact to engagement start

01

Send an Enquiry

Write to us with a brief description of your facility and what you're hoping to understand. No detailed questionnaire required at this stage.

02

Preliminary Discussion

We'll respond with questions about your facility and suggest which engagement type looks like a reasonable fit — or say plainly if none do.

03

Scope Agreement

We agree in writing on what will be observed, what the report will cover, and what the schedule looks like. Nothing begins until scope is clear on both sides.

04

Engagement Begins

On-site observation or planning sessions commence, followed by report preparation and post-delivery discussion as outlined in the agreed scope.

§ 08 — Common Questions

A few things facilities typically ask before beginning

Can we run two engagements at the same time?

In most cases, yes — though the scheduling depends on facility access and the specific engagements involved. This is something to discuss in the preliminary conversation, as some combinations work well in parallel and others are better sequenced.

How much disruption should we expect during on-site work?

Minimal. We observe normal operations rather than requesting demonstrations or stopping work for interviews. Line staff interviews are brief and scheduled to avoid peak production periods. Our aim is to be present without being in the way.

How long does it take to receive the report after on-site work?

The report preparation timeline is discussed during scope agreement, so you know what to expect before we begin. It varies by engagement type — the energy analysis, given the fortnight of metered observation, has a longer preparation window than the process review.

Is the report confidential?

The report is produced for your facility and is your document. We don't share findings with other parties, reference specific client facilities in other reports, or use engagement data for any purpose outside the delivery of that engagement's report.

§ 09 — Start Here

If one of these services looks relevant to your facility

The first step is a short written note describing your facility and what you're hoping an outside view would help clarify. No commitment is involved. We respond within two working days with a clear account of how an engagement might be structured for your situation.
